Clone High presents Gandhi in a relaxed early-2000s skate style, pairing basic casual staples with distinctive facial grooming. Because the wardrobe itself consists of everyday garments, recreating the design focuses on matching colors, clean proportions, and styling the headpieces accurately.
Putting this together comes down to balancing the simple clothing pieces with the head styling. Since the jeans and sneakers are conventional closet items, spending a little extra care on the striped tee, the bald cap blending, and the facial hair gives the outfit its specific character identity.
The Striped T-Shirt
The core upper body piece is a light grey crewneck tee defined by a bold horizontal stripe across the mid-chest. In the cartoon, this stripe sits cleanly between the armpits and sternum. A pre-striped grey shirt matches the aesthetic right away, but if you have a plain heather grey shirt, you can apply a dark grey or muted navy fabric band using heat-transfer vinyl or fabric paint backed with painter’s tape. The fit should remain relaxed and casual rather than tight or athletic, fitting the loose high schooler aesthetic from the series.
Jeans and Footwear
Gandhi wears standard medium-wash blue jeans with a straight or slightly relaxed cut. Steer clear of skinny fits or heavily distressed denim with pre-made rips, as the animated line art favors clean, unembellished lines. Normal hem lengths that break gently over the shoes work best.
For footwear, low-profile red and white sneakers anchor the bottom half of the outfit. Simple red canvas skate shoes or classic court sneakers with white soles and white laces match the cartoon counterpart accurately. If your sneakers come with red laces, swapping them for crisp white laces creates the clean two-tone contrast seen on screen.
Bald Cap Application and Makeup
Nailing the clean-shaven head is where most of the costume’s effort goes. If you are not shaving your head, a latex bald cap requires proper prep: flattening your natural hair as close to the scalp as possible with gel, hairpins, and a wig cap before stretching the latex on.
Secure the edges around the forehead, temples, and nape with spirit gum or pros-aide adhesive. Once glued down, dissolve the harsh rubber edge using a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol or acetone depending on the cap material, then stipple a cream foundation that matches your skin tone over the cap and your forehead. A light dust of translucent setting powder stops the surface from showing camera glare under convention lighting.
Facial Hair and Jewelry
A sharp goatee frames the lower face. Gandhi sports a trimmed, pointed patch of facial hair beneath his lower lip extending down over the chin. A self-adhesive goatee saves time, though applying spirit gum beneath it ensures it stays firmly in place while talking, eating, and walking around throughout the day. Trimming the edges slightly with small scissors can sharpen the silhouette if the synthetic hair feels too bushy out of the package.
Small gold hoop earrings in both ears complete the look. Clip-on or magnetic fake gold hoops work comfortably if you do not have pierced lobes. Keep the diameter small—around half an inch to three-quarters of an inch—so they hang close to the earlobe without drooping or pulling attention away from the rest of the face.
