Ishiguro’s masked appearance in Mob Psycho 100 is built around complete concealment. Before the mask comes off late in the 7th Division arc, the character is an ominous silhouette: an oversized black hooded robe, seamless black gloves, and a heavily modified gas mask that completely hides whoever is underneath.
Recreating this outfit is mostly an exercise in layering and paint modification. Because the design relies on eliminating any visible skin or hair, your primary focus will be getting the mask looking right and keeping the dark layers breathable enough to wear comfortably.
The Gas Mask and Face Concealment
The centerpiece of the entire build is the respirator. Ishiguro wears an industrial mask featuring distinct circular eye lenses and stylized mechanical accents. A Black Paintball Gas Mask provides the rigid structural shell and built-in eye shielding needed to anchor the headpiece. To match the anime design, you will need to apply custom color accents directly to the plastic faceplate.
Bright Red Paint works well for the circular lens rims and ocular markings, while Metallic Gold Acrylic Paint handles the mechanical canister trims and valve fittings. Acrylic paint grips textured plastic nicely, though buffing the surface lightly with fine-grit sandpaper beforehand prevents the pigment from flaking under movement. If your mask has removable mock canisters, drilling small unobtrusive ventilation holes along the lower edges noticeably improves airflow.
A standalone gas mask rarely covers the nape of the neck or temples. Wearing a Black Zentai Full Hood Mask underneath eliminates exposed skin entirely. It tucks smoothly beneath the robe collar, hides hair from view, and prevents rubber head straps from pulling against your scalp throughout the day.
The Hooded Robe and Silhouette
Ishiguro wears a long, draping black cloak with a deep cowl-style hood that hangs forward over the brow. A floor-length Black Hooded Robe Tunic Cloak gives you that sweeping, shadowy outline without requiring complicated tailoring.
Pay attention to how the hood drapes over the mask. Because the respirator adds substantial volume around the cheeks and snout, a shallow hood will pull tight and distort the profile. The hood should have enough depth to extend slightly forward of your forehead, casting a shadow across the upper half of the visor. If the fabric shifts backward while walking, tacking the interior top seam directly to the mask’s rear harness with safety pins keeps it firmly positioned.
Hands and Underlying Layers
Long Black Opera Gloves keep the arm lines seamless. Because Ishiguro’s hands remain completely shrouded, elbow-length gloves guarantee that your wrists stay hidden even when extending your arms. Stretch fabric slips neatly beneath wide tunic sleeves without bunching up at the forearm.
Underneath the robe, stick to lightweight black basics such as breathable athletic leggings and dark flat footwear. The outer layers trap warmth quickly, so keeping the foundation layer minimal ensures you stay comfortable inside the cloak.
