Scarlett’s design from the Papa Louie universe leans heavily into an energetic 2000s garage-rock aesthetic. Her outfit relies on sharp contrasts—bold primary red against stark white and black—built around stage staples like a customized denim vest, layered tops, and loud plaid trousers.
Putting this outfit together is largely an exercise in gathering standard garments and applying straightforward paint modifications. Because Flipline characters feature crisp, clean graphic shapes, the priority is getting the bold color blocking right rather than fussing over complicated tailoring.
Layering the Tops and Modifying the Vest
Scarlett‘s upper half uses three distinct layers: a fitted red long-sleeve crewneck, an ordinary black short-sleeve t-shirt pulled over top, and a cropped white denim vest over both. Choosing a thin, breathable red base keeps the layered sleeves from bunching up under the tee.
The black t-shirt and white vest both need simple surface detailing. Using white fabric paint on the chest of the black shirt lets you stencil or freehand her stylized music or heart graphics. For the vest, a clean white denim trucker cut with the sleeves sheared off gives the intended punk silhouette. Red fabric paint applied along the lapels or edges matches her customized stage wear from the games.
Checkered Trousers, Belt, and Footwear
Her lower half is anchored by black and red checkered pants. A medium-scale grid pattern mirrors Flipline’s clean line work best. A slim or straight cut sits neatly over sneakers without swallowing the silhouette.
A plain black leather belt with a standard rectangular silver buckle cinches the waist and creates a clean dividing line between the layered shirts and the loud plaid fabric below.
For footwear, basic low-top black canvas sneakers provide comfortable grounding. Swapping out the stock laces for bright red laces mirrors the accent color of the sleeves and trousers, tying the bottom half of the build directly to the upper layers.
Wig Styling and Head Accessories
Scarlett wears her bright crimson hair swept back under a knotted fabric band. A vibrant red synthetic wig styled with flipped ends or loose volume in the back gives the cartoon silhouette enough body without feeling stiff. Tying a knotted black fabric headband across the crown keeps the bangs in place and masks the front hairline of the wig.
Large white heart earrings hang on either side, contrasting against the dark headband and bright hair. Lightweight plastic drop earrings or clip-on hearts sit flat against the neck and replicate the flat-color 2D sprite art.
The Stage Prop
As the frontwoman for Scarlett and the Shakers, carrying a handheld microphone establishes the character immediately. A basic dynamic vocal mic or lightweight prop version gives you an easy object to hold during photos while staying true to her bandleader role.
