Izanami’s outfit in B: The Beginning stands out through an eccentric mix of tailored formalwear and chaotic street fashion. The overall silhouette pairs a crisp, button-down white shirt dress with a sharp black blazer, contrasted heavily against dark cropped trousers, mismatched striped thigh-highs, and theatrical makeup.
Because most elements rely on existing clothing cuts rather than heavy armor or complex tailoring from scratch, pulling this look together comes down to matching the specific proportions and getting the exaggerated styling details right.
Layering the Blazer and Button Dress
The core upper body centers on an unconventional layered combination: an elongated white short-sleeve button-up dress worn beneath a fitted black blazer. The collar needs to sit high and crisp around the neck to support a narrow black necktie. While off-the-rack white shirt dresses work well as a base, Izanami’s dress features prominent, evenly spaced buttons along the front placket. Swapping standard flat plastic buttons for slightly larger resin ones creates the structured look seen on screen without altering the garment’s seams.
The black blazer over the top should fit cleanly across the shoulders without swallowing the dress hem. Keeping the blazer unbuttoned allows the long white hem to drape freely, establishing the sharp black-and-white color blocking that defines the torso. A slim black tie, rather than a standard wide business tie, keeps the neckline sharp and uncluttered.
Gloves, Trousers, and Striped Legwear
Below the waist, Izanami wears fitted black trousers cropped around mid-calf. Black capri-length denim or tailored cropped slacks with a wide cuff provide the right cut, leaving ample space to showcase the loud legwear underneath.
The stockings are the most visually loud piece of the outfit. Rather than matching pairs, Izanami sports high-contrast thigh-highs featuring bold horizontal or vertical stripes, predominantly in hot pink, white, and black. If you cannot find a single pair matching the exact striping, mixing two complementary pairs of striped thigh-high stockings gives the authentic asymmetric feel. Fasten them with body adhesive or hidden sock garters so the tops stay firmly mid-thigh beneath the trouser cuffs as you walk.
Elbow-length black satin opera gloves cover the forearms up to the bicep. The smooth sheen contrasts against the matte fabric of the blazer and trousers. Down at the feet, traditional black wingtip oxfords ground the ensemble with a menswear-inspired touch that ties back into the blazer and necktie.
Hair Styling and Blue Contacts
Izanami’s hair is short, choppy, and pale, with an unruly, windblown texture. Starting with a pre-layered short white or very light silver wig makes styling straightforward. Using a hairdryer on low heat along with a texturizing paste or strong-hold hairspray helps separate individual flicked-out points around the crown and temples. The bangs should fall somewhat unevenly across the forehead rather than forming a blunt edge.
Vibrant, piercing blue eyes cut through the pale hair. Sclera-brightening or high-pigment blue cosplay lenses recreate that stark, artificial gaze.
Theatrical Graphic Makeup
Makeup transforms this costume from an edgy school-uniform hybrid into Izanami’s specific persona. The defining feature is the sky-blue lipstick. A matte or creamy bright blue liquid lipstick applied with a defined lip brush keeps the edges sharp and opaque throughout long wear.
The eye makeup combines harsh graphic liner with flashes of contrasting color. Start by carving out an exaggerated black cat-eye along the upper lash line with liquid eyeliner, then tightline with a brown or soft pencil to soften the waterline. From there, bring in bright color accents: sweep warm orange and red shimmer tones through the crease, and trace fine metallic green or vivid pink lines along the lower lash line. Mascara on the upper lashes provides enough definition to balance the heavy line work without overwhelming the colorful accents around the lids.
