Nott the Brave’s outfit reflects her life as an anxious goblin rogue surviving on the run: oversized layers, weathered fabrics, and practical concealment. The silhouette relies on heavy draping around the shoulders and neck that tapers down into wrapped limbs, giving her the scruffy, bundled appearance seen throughout Campaign Two.
Because most of her clothing consists of everyday separates worn in multiple layers, building the costume is largely an exercise in distressing and proportion. Getting the muted earth tones right—faded browns, charcoal greys, and olive greens—creates the proper foundation before tackling her goblin features and porcelain mask.
Layering the Core Clothing
Her base layer starts simple with a fitted brown turtleneck beneath a sleeveless grey cardigan. The cardigan should fit loose and hang past the hips to mimic Nott’s habit of drowning in clothes originally sized for taller folk. Leaving the cardigan open lets the warm brown show through at the chest while giving the torso extra bulk and movement.
For bottoms, dark grey sweatpants provide the slouchy, gathered look she wears under her tunic. Sweatpants with tapered elastic ankles sit comfortably under boot tops or leg wraps without bunching uncomfortably at the knees. Running sandpaper or a wire brush along high-wear seams breaks down the factory sheen so the fabric looks lived-in rather than straight off a retail rack.
The Hood and Cowl
Nott rarely goes anywhere without her head covered, making the hood one of the most prominent shapes in the entire build. A grey hooded scarf cloak handles both the head covering and the thick neck cowl in a single garment. Draping the scarf ends across the shoulders hides the cardigan’s armholes and frames the face in heavy shadows, which helps disguise the edges of a wig or prosthetic ears.
Goblin Green Skin and Hair
Achieving Nott’s skin tone comes down to durable water-activated makeup. Light green Mehron face paint applied with a damp dense sponge gives even, opaque coverage across the face, neck, and ears without feeling heavy during long wear. Set the makeup thoroughly with translucent powder and a fixing spray, especially around the jawline and collar where fabric rubs continuously.
A dark green long wig provides her messy, unkempt mane. Rather than leaving the fibers sleek and straight, tease the crown with a fine-tooth comb and trim uneven bangs that poke out past the edge of the hood. Tying the bulk of the hair into a loose, low tail keeps it manageable while allowing loose strands to frame her goblin ears.
Bandage Wraps and Distressing
White bandages wrap around Nott’s forearms, hands, and lower legs, standing in for formal armor or polished boots. Instead of applying fresh, bright rolls directly from the package, steep the fabric in black tea or diluted instant coffee to give the cotton an aged, yellowish grime. Once dry, wrap them snugly over fingers and shins, securing the loose tails with safety pins tucked on the inner side of each limb.
Mask, Flask, and Accessories
Her painted porcelain doll mask remains her defining prop. You can modify a blank white plastic masquerade mask by trimming down the chin, opening up circular eyeholes, and painting delicate black cracked lines radiating across the cheeks. Thread an elastic band behind the head so it can rest over your face or slide up onto the forehead when taking a break.
Finish the outfit with a worn leather pouch belt and a small metal flask. Nott’s attachment to her flask is central to her character, and clipping one to your hip gives your hands a natural prop to hold while moving through a convention hall.
